Hot Topics presents #PovertyKillsChildren

Hot topics is back! For the third year running we will be running an online study day on how #povertykillschildren.

Following on from the success of 2021, hot topics is back to talk about how poverty kills children. This online study day will focus on why so many children in the UK are facing poverty and how this impacts their health, as well as discussion on how health services can help.

Speakers include:

Professor Ian Sinha Honorary professor of child health, Clinical Lead for National Asthma and COPD Audit Lead (paediatrics), and NHS England Paediatric Asthma Lead

Dr Sarah Mayell Clinical Director for respiratory paediatrics Alder Hey Children’s Hospital

Dr Rachel Loopstra Lecturer in nutrition and Co-Lead for ENUF

Professor Imogen Tyler Professor in Sociology and author of “Stigma: The Machinery of Inequality”

Professor David Taylor Robinson Professor of Public Health and Policy, Co-Lead Author for Child of the North report

Professor Simon Kenny Paediatric surgeon, Honorary Senior Lecturer in Child Health and National Lead for Children and Young People for NHS England

Dr Camilla Kingdon: President for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Consultant Neonatologist
